She joins her husband and children at the front of the crowd, and people ridicule her about late arrival. Mr. Summers asks whether anyone is absent, and the crowd answers Dunbar isnt there. Mr. Summers asks who will draw for Dunbar, and Mrs. Dunbar says she will because she doesnt have a son whos old enough.
